Gayathri Yogashram was established under an educational trust in the year 1990. Ever since it was initiated, the Yogashram has been serving people and promoting their well being through spiritual and cosmic endeavours.
Jayakumari Amma is a well known spiritual practioner in Salem and Tirupur. The Gayathri temple was initiated by her through the guidance that she received in her meditation. She has been running the Yogashram as an extended arm of the temple to serve the people and help them receive the benefits of the cosmic energy.
All her classes are designed based on the instructions she receives through her meditation and many have seen the benefits of these classes.
Cosmic energy is the positive, vitalizing and healing energy that is found in abundance in the universe. The energy in other words is the “life force” for all living organisms.
Tapping into the cosmic energy and harnessing this energy for well being of the human kind is undertaken across spiritual disciplines inclusive of Reiki, Karuna Reiki, Chakra Healing, Magnified healing and many others.
During our sleep, we receive some cosmic energy from the universe; however given the increasing complexity of our worldly life and the mental and physical challenges that we have to overcome, this limited energy is insufficient. We then feel tired and exhausted very often.
By practicing art forms such as Reiki and other practices mentioned earlier, one can reach out to this cosmic energy and channelize it for revitalizing oneself. Many practioners have derived positive changes in their life by adequately harnessing this life force.

GAYATHRI TEMPLE and GAYATHRI YOGASHRAM
At the Yogashram various classes and activities are undertaken in order to channelize this cosmic energy towards the well being of its members – also called as “Channels”.
The revenues or “Dakshana” received from conducting these spiritual classes have been utilized for the construction and maintenance of Sri Pancha Mugha Gayathri Devi Temple at Tirupur, the textile town of southern India.
The temple which has become one of the landmarks to visit in the town, has many specialties to it.
The physical layout of the temple is in the form of a lotus, the flower that closely resembles Sri Chakra, which is a powerful yantra.
At the time of the temple Kumbabhishegam in 2002, there were 40 homakundams that were organized for transmitting cosmic power to the goddess in the temple.
In addition to this, 108 homakundams were organized for the general public to participate and receive the cosmic energy.
The Yogashram undertakes regular activities to help its Channels and the general public rejuvenate their energy and utilize the same for their success and happiness.
Once a year, on the “Avani Avattam” (Gayathri Jaba Day) one lac and eight offerings are made in the homakundam by chanting one crore and eight Gayathri mantras. Both Channels of the Yogashram and the general public take active participation in this spiritual event conducted at Salem. The initiation or the “Deeksha” for chanting the holy mantra is also provided to the public. The event is free for all to participate.
Once a year on the Karthigai Deepam day, Sri Vidyai and Maha Sodasi pooja are conducted at Salem.These poojas are conducted for promoting better relationships among the participant’s family members and for enhancing their aishwarya.
The Channels of the Yogashram meet fortnightly to practice mantras and share their experiences with others. This get together is a self fulfilling experience and many look forward and benefit from these sessions
Apart from spiritual activities, the Yogashram also undertakes developmental camps and sessions for the student community.
